Thinking of buying a property - SmartShare has thousands of properties to buy or rent across the UK
Are you tired of paying expensive rent month after month? When you are just starting out in your business or career, it is normal to rent a place to stay. But it would not be a smart decision to keep renting for the rest of your life. Why? Because as years go by, real estate prices will rise and by the time you retire and finally have enough money to buy a house, the price would be sky-high already.
But the sad truth is that not everyone can afford to buy a house upfront. It could be that the budget is simply not enough or perhaps you do not have a good credit rating and thus cannot get a mortgage for a home. This is true for many people nowadays; buying a home seems almost impossible for a percentage of households, especially now that the global economy is still recovering from the crisis that has hit us in the last couple of years.

‘Part buy part rent’ homes are available to a wide range of people e.g. first time buyers, previous home owners who are unable to afford to buy with supplementary help (e.g. divorce, bereavement), key workers (e.g. nurse, police officer). As long as the household income is less than £60,000 and does not own another property then you could be eligible.

Houses on the site have been put within the price range of more buyers than ever under the government's HomeBuy Direct shared equity scheme.
Collette Thompson, who works as a senior recruitment consultant, had recently moved to the South Midlands and was encouraged by the offer of a 30 per cent equity loan on the property.
"I was planning on renting whilst I saved for a deposit but when I saw that I may be eligible for this scheme I had to ring to find out more," she commented.
Ms Thompson's mortgage has been approved, so as soon as the surveys are complete she can move into the brand new two-bedroom Pelham house.
The government recently pledged to increase Britain's supply of affordable housing by injecting a further £600 million into HomeBuy Direct.

A young couple have been helped to break out of rented accommodation by a government-backed shared equity scheme.
William Dalton and Michelle Lee had been renting an apartment in Eastbourne for three years and were keen to find somewhere roomier and more rural, but a lack of finance held them back.
However, HomeBuy Direct and developers Barratt were able to give them a leg up after they discovered a two-bedroom, semi-detached home in the village of Hailsham.
"It's a cracking scheme which means that young professionals like us can afford to buy a great property at a reasonable price," said Mr Dalton.
Barratt is backing the HomeBuy Direct initiative with 3,000 homes available under the scheme across the UK, including more than 70 located in East Sussex.
The developer this month held an open day in Bridgwater, Somerset to raise awareness of the affordable homes available in the south west.
